The Quality Assurance (QA) Department has a single focus, to ensure consistent and accurate vehicle inspections. Test lanes are audited on a regular basis and consistent monitoring of all 32 test lanes is ongoing.

test accuracy.
Test analyzers are calibrated daily and checked a minimum of twice daily and recalibrated if necessary. If a problem occurs in any test lane, that lane will automatically be shut down to prevent any incorrect test from occurring. In addition to these calibrations the emissions analyzers go through a zero and hang-up check prior to each inspection thus ensuring an accurate test.

All Envirotest Canada employees go through a centralized training program and each employee is audited monthly.

By maintaining such routine control of the inspection equipment and the process, customers can be assured that the inspection they receive will be the same at any station, in any lane and at any time of the day or week.

However, despite these significant audits and monitoring, there may be some vehicles that show significantly different readings from test to test. This variability is related to the vehicle’s performance and not the emissions test.
By ensuring the consistency and accuracy of the testing equipment, customers are assured that the inspection they receive is the same in any station, in any lane at any time of the day or week.
